Common DOES NOT equal Normal

but it is NOT NORMAL

Many will tell you that all these things are NORMAL and people may even tell you that, as a parent, you are worrying about your child too much, or that they will outgrow these things, or that it is just a phase…or, or, or…

Some others may tell you that your child’s collection of symptoms are being caused by a “mysterious syndrome” or “rare disease” or “disorder”, but when you dissect the list of symptoms the child has and look at them singularly, these symptoms are not RARE, they are COMMON, but they still are not NORMAL.

You are told these things because

“SICK” is the NEW NORMAL,

in today’s world.

All these COMMON  “childhood” ailments are the BODY’s way of saying something is OUT OF BALANCE, NOT NORMAL, needs TWEAKING, ADJUSTING, and ATTENTION…

Continue to THINK, Continue to QUESTION, Continue to ASK WHY? and Continue to LOOK FOR ANSWERS and ADVOCATE for your child… because

NO ONE ELSE WILL EVER DO AS GOOD OF A JOB OF IT, THAN YOU WILL!

Yes. A thousand million times, yes.

  2. This is sooooooo good. I wish everyone in America could read this!

    • Thank you Jennifer, it has been weighing on my mind for awhile, and thankfully I was blessed with the words to express it! All parents must question everyday, what they can do to improve their child’s health, one babystep at a time, slow and steady wins the race!

    Yep! My biggest pet peeve!!

  4. My kids fit this over and over. Great post!! No, it is NOT normal!

Nice job! I am so tired of hearing how common all of these things are. Wake up world……this isn’t normal!

  6. Lisa Graham-Garza says:

A new friend just shared your site with me and you’ve said it so well.
Sadly, this is my son’s version of “normal” now too and we actually have to travel to see doctors who will help us because noone in Houston, Tx will!
My boys will be healthier than this if it kills me!!

There is hope. A toxic overload contributes to some of these “common” maladies and with the suggestions made by a trained homeopathic doctor or practitioner, the body can be encouraged and facilitated in its natural ability to detox. Enzymes and many natural herbs and foods we are familiar with are what our body was naturally designed to use. Drugs, antibiotics and food additives often build up within the cells if a body has lost its ability to detox. This is one aspect of treatment often overlooked in American medical treatments.

I agree. I am so thankful that my kids truly are normal and not the common ones listed above! I am so thankful to God for him giving me the common sense that I have. Because when I had a doctor try to tell me that my daughter, then 4, had asthma, I told him, “She does not!” and I stopped seeing him. I started doing research and found a homeopathic remedy and she is super healthy and ends up being in the top 30 kids in her grade at the annual mile run at school. So, I agree…don’t let money hungry drug company loving doctors speak death over your kids.
I also breastfeed my kids. My toddler is still being nursed. I am a firm believer, now, that fast food is child abuse. And I enjoy taking the time to make a home cooked meal. The way it is meant to be made. I read labels. I teach my kids to read labels and look up the ingredients and see what they are. I bless my food (not just because God says to, but there is scientific evidence by Dr. Emoto ((in Japan)) with studying water crystals and the effects of words on them) and I do my best to eat as well as we can. I do not worry about food though…because worrying and fear will hurt you more than conventional foods will. It is what is in your heart, that comes out of your mouth, that will defile a man. We must remember that death and life are in the power of the tongue, too. It is not just what we put in our bodies…it is also what we put out that affects our health and reality.
I am so glad to have found your site today! Thank you so much for sharing! May you be blessed for your courage!

I wish all of America and Australis would read this. How have we come to believe all those chronic ailments are any kind of normal? It is madness.

I was so happy to see this post! I have been saying these exact words myself for the past couple of years while trying to figure out what was happening with my own kids. Luckily we have started treating our family with constitutional homeopathy and eating a traditional whole foods diet and we are now able to easily distinguish between common and normal. We also have alternative healthcare practitioners who understand this distinction. Sadly, these days I don’t see too many “normal” kids out there.

I found your site doing a search on leigh’s syndrome which my brother has. I am on a research buzz trying to get to the bottom of all these health problems we have now a days. Did you know that all those symptoms you listed above can be linked to Celiac or a gluten intolerance? I searched your site after reading your story and can’t find any articles on the dangers of gluten and or wheat. Have you researched that yet for your kids health problems? I’m curious because I recently found out I am gluten intolerant after 40 years of acid reflux, being overweight, constipation and diarrhea, major headaches, bad skin and acne, easily broken bones and fractures, sore joints and back, stomach aches, delayed puberty, mouth ulcers and a few more I’m forgetting.

When I finally said enough is enough and took matters in my own hands I found the paleo diet. I lost 40 pounds in about a year with no change in exercise, just concentrating on eating low carb and real food. But the most important thing about my change was all those symptoms I listed disappeared! Our son was complaining of “puke burbs” at 5 years old. Then his allergies got real bad and had what we thought was an asthma attack. He was also very anxious. We took wheat out of his diet and they all eventually went away. Our daughter who is 4 recently complained of the same burbs. We stopped her from having wheat and her acid reflux stopped.

In my family we have obesity, type 1 and 2 diabetes, poor vision, infertility, down syndrome, leigh’s syndrome, Gerd, cancer, acne, tooth decay, etc., etc. All can be linked to a gluten intolerance. I’m trying to bring awareness to my family but only my aunt with the down syndrome son is interested in looking into it. She’s dealing with some autoimmune issues that we think might be linked to gluten and her son has had bad digestive issues most of his life.

If one is gluten intolerant, it only takes a spec of gluten to reek havoc on your system. There are over 300 symptoms that are now known to gluten intolerance. Oh, and the test are not reliable either. People have lived most of their lives ill because they got a test as a child and it was negative. Interested in hearing if you checked for that yet.

    Kind regards,
    Brandon

    • We have looked into Gluten and have this removed from our daughter’s diet.
      Thank you for your insight.
Does your brother know of the drug trial going on right now for Leigh’s?
contact me if you need more info.
THank you for reaching out to me!
